Summer Nationals and July Challenge (June 27–July 6)

This year’s Summer Nationals and July Challenge took place in Portland, OR, with 11 Orlando Fencing Academy fencers participating. Our athletes trained hard all year to test their skills against some of the best fencers in the country, competing in events ranging from Y10 to Division 1A. Overall, it was a strong tournament for our fencers, especially our younger groups (Y10, Y12, Y14).

Some highlights:

• In Division 2 Women’s Foil, Joanna won 4 pool bouts, advanced to DE, and narrowly lost a close 12–15 bout, finishing 72nd overall.

• Liam earned 4 pool bout wins, while Ammar had 3 pool bout wins and received a bye into the first round of DE.

• Madhav (Div 3), Annan (Div 2), and Collin (Y10) all won their first DE bouts.
