OFA’s 6 young fencers fenced at USF Green and Gold RYC over the weekend.  They competed in Y10, Y12 and Y14 events.  Baber brothers brought home 2 medals.  Ammar got 8 th place in Y10 men’s foil and his bother Shaheer got his first gold medal in Y14 men’s foil.  Jamie, Christina, Liam and Collin all tried their best but came short to get into medal round. Another successful Connor Porter Memorial Tournament has been in the books. More than 90 fencers participated in 10 different events that made this year’s Connor Porter Memorial Tournament the most successful tournament in 7 years.  Out of 5 Foil events, Orlando Fencing Academy fencers captured 3 gold medals (Ammar in Y10 Mixed, Daniel in Sr. Mixed, Annan in Div 2 Mixed), 1 silver (Collin in Y10 Mixed) and 2 Bronze (Jamie in Y12 Mixed and Tomas in Sr. Mixed).  Daniel got a go

This year’s Junior Olympics took place in Kansas City, MO. 7 OFA fencers got qualified and competed in this very competitive national tournament. Joanna won 2 pool bouts and advanced to DE in JR. Women’s Foil. Sheheer won 2 pool bouts and advanced to DE in CDT Men’s Foil. We also formed a Men’s JR Foil team to compete in team tournaments and got placed 20th. Due to the scheduling conflict, OFA couldn’t participate in this year’s Fairfax Challenge ROC, RJCC, RYC. However, three of our fencers were able to participate by their own and did great on the tournament. Carlos placed 3rd in Div 2 Men’s Epee, Sol placed 7th in Y14 Women’s Epee. OFA hosted winter camp on the last week of December 2025.  There were 10 fencers who joined to prepare for the second half of the season and for upcoming Junior Olympics in Kansas City, MO. Fried Chichen Wednesday Madeline came all the way from UK to join our camp.  It was good to have her joining the camp.  And we wish her the best in her future fencing endeavor. Also, good luck to those fencers who will compete in Junior Olympic in January 2026.

This year’s Christmas Party was held on 12/20. As always, alumni who are in town joined the party. It’s great to just relax after a week of final exams and chat with club members and alumni. Good food and good friends getting together. What else could we ask for? We wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Six fencers participated in this year’s Lotus Cup in Myrtle Beach, SC. Most of them were also working as referees. The medal winners are: Tomas got a gold medal in Div 2 Men’s Foil Annan placed 6th in Jr. Men’s Foil Joanna placed 8th in Div 2 Women’s Foil Ryo and Tomas qualified for Summer National in Div 1A, Div 2 and Div 3 by placing in 11th and 17th in tough Div 1A men’s Foil Great job everyone!!!! OFA’s young fencers participated in Nov NAC at Fort Worth, TX over the weekend. They tried their best to compete in this tough tournament and displayed great progress. Sheheer fenced in Y14 and CDT and had one DE win in Y14.  Emma and Jamie fenced in CDT Women and Y14 Women. Good job everyone and look forward to more improvement in future tournaments. OFA tradition continues with this year's NCAA Fencing College Tour. 3 high school juniors joined this year’s college tour.  We visited 7 outstanding fencing colleges in Tri State and Pennsylvania area.
